How does the Fantasy Basketball Trade Analyzer work?
Enter the players you're giving and receiving, then select your stat categories. FanScout calculates z-scores for each player across your chosen categories and sums them — a higher total z-score means the player contributes more above-average production in your league.
What is a z-score in fantasy basketball trades?
A z-score measures how far a player's stats are from the league average, in units of standard deviation. A positive z-score means above-average production. Summing z-scores across all categories gives a single number to compare players fairly.
How do I know if a trade is fair in fantasy basketball?
Compare the total z-score of players you're giving versus receiving. A trade where you receive a higher total z-score benefits your team. Also check category-level breakdowns — a player with a high total z-score might only excel in categories you already have covered.
Can I analyze punt strategy trades?
Yes. Select a punt category to remove it from the analysis. FanScout recalculates z-scores without that stat, showing you who wins the trade in the categories that actually matter for your roster build.
How often is trade data updated?
Player stats and z-scores update daily based on current season data. Set the time period to Last Week, Last Month, or Full Season to see how player value changes across different windows.
