How does the NBA Fantasy Team Analyzer work?
Add your current roster and select your stat categories. FanScout calculates z-scores for each player and aggregates them across your team, showing category-level strengths and weaknesses so you can spot where you're winning, where you're losing, and which free agents would help most.
What is a z-score in fantasy basketball?
A z-score measures how far above or below average a player performs in a given statistical category. Positive z-scores mean above-average production; negative means below. Summing z-scores across all categories gives each player a single value score relative to the rest of the player pool.
How do I use the Team Analyzer to find waiver wire pickups?
After adding your roster, look at your lowest category z-scores — those are your weaknesses. Filter the free agent pool for players with high z-scores in exactly those categories to find targeted waiver pickups that improve your standings.
Can I analyze my team for a punt build?
Yes. Select only the categories you're targeting and remove the ones you're punting. The analyzer recalculates your team strength in just the categories you're competing in, making it easier to find punt-compatible waiver or trade targets.
How often is team analysis data updated?
Player stats and z-scores update daily. Switch between Last Week, Last Month, and Full Season views to understand whether a player's recent production reflects a true trend or a temporary hot or cold streak.
